Tushar Singh Revolutionizing Milk with Mr. Dairy’s A2 Protein Offering
In a world inundated with adulterated milk, Tushar Singh, the founder of Mr. Dairy, is on a mission to provide consumers with pure, nutritious, and unadulterated A2 protein milk. His journey is a testament to a commitment to quality and a vision for healthy living. The story of Mr. Dairy traces its roots back to the 1960s when Tushar’s grandfather, Nanak Singh, started Nanak Milk in Delhi. The family business thrived as it supplied milk to major cities in North India, including prestigious clients like Nestle, Delhi Milk Scheme, and the Indian Army. Nanak Milk was also one of the pioneers in introducing poly packaging for selling milk, a revolutionary concept at the time.
However, as the business model depended on procuring milk from farmers, maintaining consistent quality became challenging. Rising cases of milk adulteration from the farmers led to a difficult decision in 2001—to shut down the milk business.
The Resurgence of Quality Milk:
After an 18-year hiatus, the legacy of supplying quality milk was revived by Tushar Singh when he launched Mr. Dairy in May 2019. With self-funded capital of Rs 7 crore, Tushar embarked on a mission to provide A2 protein milk produced by indigenous Indian cow breeds. This milk, renowned for its superior quality, taste, and freshness, offers a healthier alternative to the adulterated milk prevalent in the market. Tushar emphasizes the importance of cows’ diet and well-being, factors that directly impact milk quality. Mr. Dairy boasts 200 Sahiwal cows, native to India, across three expansive farms. Each milking cow yields five to six liters of premium quality milk daily.
Nurturing Healthy Cows and Quality Milk:
The well-being of the cows is paramount at Mr. Dairy. Tushar’s commitment to quality led him to study at the National Dairy Research Institute, where he learned about enhancing the nutritional value of cow’s milk. The cows at Mr. Dairy receive top-notch care, including a nutritious diet featuring ingredients like alfa, jaggery, jowar, and bajra. The company refrains from using chemicals or hormone injections on its cows, ensuring that Mr. Dairy’s milk contains 20 percent more calcium than competitors. Tushar asserts that the milk maintains high nutritional value and lower cholesterol levels, making it a healthier choice for consumers.
Addressing the Issue of Milk Adulteration:
India has witnessed a concerning rise in milk adulteration cases in recent years, with nearly 70 percent of milk samples found to be adulterated and unfit for consumption, according to the National Survey on Milk Adulteration 2011. The market share for premium, adulterant-free milk remains small, but there’s potential for growth as consumers become more health-conscious.
Mr. Dairy is at the forefront of providing pure, unadulterated milk to meet this growing demand. The brand delivers its milk, which is pasteurized and ready to drink, chilled within two to three hours of milking, ensuring freshness and quality.
Expanding Reach and Product Portfolio:
Currently serving South Delhi and Gurugram, Mr. Dairy offers customers the convenience of ordering through an app or website. The brand plans to expand to other states in India, promoting the consumption of pure milk without additives and preservatives. Additionally, Mr. Dairy aims to diversify its product portfolio by introducing flavoured milk and other dairy products like butter and cheese. Increasing the herd count to 1,000 cows is also on the agenda to meet the growing demand for A2 protein milk.
Tushar Singh’s vision for Mr. Dairy is clear—to offer consumers a healthier and safer alternative to adulterated milk while nurturing and caring for the cows that provide it. With a commitment to quality, a focus on awareness campaigns, and a dedication to purity, Mr. Dairy is poised to make a positive impact on the Indian dairy industry and the lives of health-conscious consumers. Tushar Singh’s journey serves as an inspiring example of how one entrepreneur’s vision can drive change for the better.
