The Powerful Women Entrepreneur, Rylee Ebsen
Rylee Ebsen is a live-action director, creative director, and startup advisor who was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. Kellogg’s, Disney, Facebook, ESPN, Zillow, and Snapchat are among the brands for whom she has directed short films, skits, documentaries, commercials, and branded content.
Rylee started her career at Snapchat, where she directed content and oversaw the firm’s creative transformation from a startup to a multibillion-dollar public company. While at Snap, Ebsen oversaw campaigns for the company’s most important product launches, including Lenses Studio, Snap’s augmented reality platform, Spectacles, and others.
Rylee’s experience working at Snapchat has given her a unique perspective on how to collaborate with tech companies. She understands how to personalize technology and frequently employs humor to introduce new consumer technology goods. She knows how to employ narrative storytelling to demystify the demands and motives of fast-moving, consumer-driven firms focused on technology.
In April 2019, Ebsen who is the granddaughter of famous actor Buddy Ebsen and advertising creative director Stan Freberg, chose to resurrect Buddy’s former production business Ebsen Enterprises Inc. Rylee is excited to offer her skills as a producer of new media such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, wearables, 360-video, and live-streaming. She’s given talks at businesses, conferences, and schools all across the world. Rylee produced an augmented reality effect for Taylor Swift’s new album ‘Lover’ in August 2019. Millions of users used it once it went live in August on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.
She is also a Telly Award Winning DGA comedy director who has worked with a number of high-profile actors and comedians, including Seth McFarland and Ben Schwartz.
