The Founder of Future Of Indian Robotics Industry- Swaayatt Robots, Sanjeev Verma
Sanjeev Sharma is the founder of Swaayatt Robots, a company dedicated to developing autonomous driving technology capable of navigating highly unpredictable traffic dynamics in both structured and unstructured environments.
Sanjeev began his study on autonomous navigation in new surroundings as an undergraduate student at IIT Roorkee in January 2009. Since 2014, his research has focused on applications in autonomous driving, such as deep learning, computer vision, SLAM, and visual odometry, spanning numerous fields of theoretical computer science and applied mathematics. His work at Swaayatt Robots, which aims to enable autonomous driving in challenging environments like India, has been featured in both national and international media on multiple occasions.
The company is working on level-5 self-driving technology. The company’s next goal is to demonstrate autonomous driving at 100 km/h on Indian highways, demonstrating the technology’s potential.
Sanjeev and his team’s research largely focuses on reinforcement learning, as well as diverse fields of theoretical computer science and applied mathematics. Decision-making and motion planning account for 70% of our R&D. Their research and development is focused on enabling autonomous driving without the usage of high-resolution or high-fidelity maps. They’ve been performing algorithmic and full autonomous driving demonstrations with their autonomous Mahindra Bolero vehicle since 2016. (2016-2021). They demonstrated autonomous driving in extremely difficult traffic circumstances on Indian roadways in 2017 and 2018.
