Success Story of a Indian Hotel Chain FabHotels

FabHotels was founded in 2014 by Vaibhav Aggarwal, an alumnus of IIT Guwahati and the Wharton of the University of Pennsylvania, and Adarsh ​​Manpuria, also an alumnus of the Wharton of the University of Pennsylvania.
After earning his MBA from Wharton School, Vaibhav realized that his MBA degree was only useful for building something himself. Vaibhav took an entrepreneurial leap in 2012 when he launched FabFurnish.com, an online retailer of furniture and home furnishings. In 2014, Vaibhav left his FabFurnish and founded his FabHotels with Adarssh Mnpuria, aiming to provide pocket-friendly accommodation for business travelers.
FabHotels is his network of 3-star budget hotels in India headquartered in Gurugram. As of November 2022, it operates over 900 hotels in over 66 cities across India, including major cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Coimbatore. Started operation in 2014.
In 2016, FabHotels raised $8 million in funding from Accel Partners, RB Investments, Mohandas Pai’s Aarin Capital, and Qualcomm Ventures.

In 2017, FabHotels received $25 million in Series B funding from Goldman Sachs, with Accel Partners also participating in the round.

In early March 2020, FabHotels launched the “Work-from-FabHotels” campaign amid the rapidly spreading fears of a pandemic. The campaign was well received by major companies as the initiative allows employees to work together and maintain better social distancing compared to crowded offices. However, the campaign was halted due to the full lockdown announced in India on March 24, 2020.

The FabHotels team has developed another method to keep their business running. FabHotels is now working with hospitals to provide safe and hygienic accommodations for medical staff near hospitals. FabHotels provided rooms for medical staff at highly subsidized rates and more than 80 FabHotels facilities were used for this purpose.

FabHotels also partners with state governments to provide hotel quarantine facilities for international travelers.
