In the vibrant landscape of India’s tech entrepreneurship, three visionaries from IIT Delhi, Mayank Bhangadia, Avinash Saxena, and Kaushal Shubhank, are making waves with Roposo.com, the country’s first fashion-focused social network. Their innovative platform has not only reshaped how women discover and shop for fashion but has also secured a significant boost through a recent bridge funding round, demonstrating the market’s confidence in their venture.

Roposo.com emerged from the entrepreneurial spirit of three IIT Delhi alumni who shared a common passion for blending technology and fashion. Initially conceived as a gifting site named Giveter, the trio, recognizing the evolving needs of the market, strategically pivoted to Roposo. This decision proved pivotal, as Roposo rapidly gained traction in the competitive e-commerce landscape. Mayank Bhangadia, Avinash Saxena (former CTO of Zomato.com), and Kaushal Shubhank envisioned a social network tailored for fashion enthusiasts. Roposo.com became the manifestation of their collective vision, offering a space where women could seamlessly discover, curate, and shop for the latest products and trends.

Roposo.com positions itself uniquely in the market by curating over 2 lakh products from more than 150 vendors and 5000 brands. What sets Roposo apart is its personalized approach to recommendations. With a robust recommendation engine, the platform boasts an impressive 5-8% effective conversion rate, underlining the effectiveness of its tailored suggestions. Co-founder Binny Bansal, also an angel investor in Roposo.com, commended the team’s innovative approach, stating, “A networking destination built around fashion where women can hang out and exchange thoughts & ideas, leading them to buying fashion-products is a ground-breaking business idea.”

Roposo.com’s success story is not just about numbers; it’s about user engagement and satisfaction. With over 100,000 unique monthly visitors, the platform has fostered a vibrant social community. Users actively create lists, follow others, like products, comment, and share on social media, contributing to a dynamic and interactive space. One standout feature is the Roposo Color Palette, which simplifies trend discovery by allowing users to respond visually to colors rather than relying on textual searches. Users can explore fashion by mood, taste, or trend, making the process highly intuitive and enjoyable. The platform’s emphasis on user-generated content, such as curated collections called ‘lists,’ adds a communal dimension to the fashion discovery experience.

To address the challenge of product discovery in a crowded online space, Roposo.com recently introduced a “Personalized Discount” feature. This innovative tool allows users to save liked products from various brands and stores in a list. Roposo.com then notifies users when personalized discounts become available for the items they’ve saved, streamlining the discount-hunting process. Roposo.com’s recent bridge funding, led by existing investors India Quotient, 5 Ideas Start-up Fuel, and Binny Bansal, underscores the market’s confidence in the platform. The close-to-$1-million investment reflects not only the platform’s current success but also its potential for further growth and innovation in the fashion-tech space.

Looking ahead, the Roposo team envisions expanding their offerings to include advisory services and an online marketplace. By leveraging the data generated through their platform, Roposo aims to provide valuable insights to farmers, fostering a holistic ecosystem that combines technology, knowledge-sharing, and market access.
