Fan’s Favourite and An Acting Geek, Smriti Kalra

Smiriti Kalra is a famous Indian actress, model loved and admired by many of her fans. She made her acting debut in the film 12/24 Karol Bagh, as Simmi. She portrayed Surveen in the 2012 production of Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the Year. She appeared in the critically acclaimed Sony TV series Itti Si Khushi in 2014 as Neha. It’s interesting to note that she was forbidden from watching TV or movies when she was growing up despite having started off watching television. Only from her schoolmates had she heard tales about Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai.

Along with Parth Samthaan, Smriti co-hosted the fifth season of the Zing TV programme Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya in 2015. She participated in the short film Cup of Tea in 2017, which was officially chosen for over 72 international film festivals, nominated for many accolades, and won several of them, including the 2nd Best Short Film Award at the EduDoc International Short Film Competition and was officially chosen for the 20th International Children’s Film Festival India 2017.

Her current favourite genres include rom-coms, documentaries, and fiction inspired by true events. She prefers to watch actual stories, but on occasion, when she’s feeling low, she chooses something like Emily in Paris to lift her spirits.
