Gupta’s entrepreneurial journey took an unexpected turn when he co-founded Cake Away, a bakery, in 2009. The opportunity to take over a small space in a café in Basant Lok, Delhi, led to the birth of The Piano Man in 2012. Recognizing the need for a dedicated music venue, Gupta expanded to Safdarjung in 2015, creating a space where musicians and audiences could truly connect. The intriguing name, “The Piano Man,” was suggested by Gupta’s father just weeks before the launch.
